We had the pleasure of being guests on the luxury barge Athos this year cruising blissfully along the Canal du Midi in the beautiful French countryside. From the minute we stepped on board we were spoiled rotten by the gorgeous crew and treated daily to the finest French cuisine, wines and cheeses of the region. My highlight was sipping champagne in the jacuzzi as we navigated up the seven lock staircase. We had the great pleasure of taking a tour to the Dordogne region of France with Sue Heine in July 2023. Our week with twenty close friends celebrating some 60th birthdays was wonderful with Sue arranging an amazing Villa complex, daily tours to castles, local towns and many great sights. Sue’s deep knowledge of the area, its rich history and its many culinary delights, was clear to all of us as she expertly guided our daily travels and made sure we all had an unforgettable  experience. We have travelled on numerous barge cruises in France and booked them all through Sue. Her knowledge and attention to detail has helped us choose the right barge for our needs every time. We got hooked after our first cruise on board La Belle Epoque years ago and we have returned again and again. In our experience every cruise has been memorable and we have loved discovering the many varied regions of France on board different barges. The food & wine are exceptional and never disappoint! A 5 star culinary experience every time. Our last cruise was a private barge charter with a group of friends, and it was unforgettable. In July 2023 a group of us from Australia travelled with Toujours France on a two-part trip, a chateau stay in the Dordogne and a barge cruise (on Panache in Alsace.) Sue’s pre-organisation was flawless, which meant that both components of the trip were complete hassle-free relaxation and enjoyment, and culture immersion. Sue’s relationships with suppliers, and her thorough knowledge of everywhere we visited, stayed, ate or floated through on Panache, felt like travelling with a great friend who knows France like the back of her hand. I simply cannot imagine travelling through France on a three-week timeline and being able to do it as efficiently, enjoyably and rewardingly as being in the company and hands of Sue Heine and Toujours France.

Sue has shown us spectacular French scenery, history, wine, cuisine, villages, gardens & more. We have cruised the French canals on the hotel barges, a stunning experience. Renaissance, Panache, La Belle Epoque (twice), Athos & Impressionniste – all superb and we are coming back this year for another! Toujours France has given us a lifetime of memories and Sue will be an integral part of all future travels we make. We cannot thank her enough for our memories.

Unique, wonderful, unforgettable memories made while cruising on the beautiful waterways of France. We loved the Impressionniste, its beautiful interiors and the fantastic excursions. The food was to die for.

I cannot give Sue’s tours and barge cruises a high enough recommendation. She researches the best guides, the accommodation is always of an ultra-high level of comfort, and the dining experience is an epicure’s delight.

Sue convinced us to join our first luxury hotel barge trip some years ago – on the Impressionniste in southern Burgundy. This fabulous trip led to more memorable, luxury hotel barge adventures in France. Wonderful memories!

Panache was everything we dreamed of – the food & wine were amazing! We loved learning about the history and local traditions on our excursions.

“Panache” was beautiful, the menu each day delicious with French wines to match, open bar and great spaces to watch the scenery pass peacefully by either from indoors or out on the deck.
